Position: Superintendent (West Coast of Florida)
Location: West Coast of Florida
This role will report to: Chad Posey, EVP of TEI Southeast

Key Responsibilities

  1. Project Management:
    • - Plan, schedule, and oversee elevator installation, modernization, and repair projects.
    • - Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
    • - Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to coordinate activities.
  2. Team Leadership:
    • - Supervise and mentor elevator technicians and apprentices.
    • - Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training as needed.
    • - Foster a safe and positive work environment.
  3. Technical Oversight:
    • - Ensure all work complies with industry codes, safety standards, and company policies.
    • - Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to elevator systems.
    • - Review and approve work completed by the team.
  4. Client Relations:
    • - Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding project updates and concerns.
    • - Address customer inquiries and ensure client satisfaction.
    • - Provide recommendations for upgrades and improvements when necessary.
  5. Compliance and Safety:
    • - Enforce adherence to safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
    • - Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
    • - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local codes and standards.
  6. Administrative Duties:
    • - Prepare and submit reports on project progress, team performance, and financials.
    • - Manage budgets, approve expenditures, and monitor inventory.
    • - Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure availability of materials and equipment.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; or elevator work experience.
  • Experience:
    • - Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the elevator industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
    • - Strong understanding of elevator installation, maintenance, and modernization processes.
  • Certifications: Valid elevator mechanic license; additional certifications (e.g., QEI, CET) are preferred.
  • Skills:
    • - Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
    • - Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • - Proficient in reading blueprints and technical diagrams.
    • - Familiarity with industry codes (ASME A17.1) and safety standards.
    • - Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 

Working Conditions

  • - Work may involve exposure to heights, confined spaces, and varying weather conditions.
  • - Physical demands include lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
  • - Regular travel to job sites within the assigned area is required.
